Sandtray.jpgIt's time for hearts and hands in the sand!

Play therapy education is often enhanced by experiential learning opportunities. For this reason, I am accustomed to offering 6-12 hour workshops. This provides ample time for a balance of an intellectual and experiential approach to learning.

In these COVID times, and restrictions to online learning, however, I have shortened workshops. This often means that I limit experiential learning opportunities. I do this sometimes because I am hearing/observing that not all participants are prepared for experiential learning online. I also do this to shorten the experience of "Zoom fatigue." And, yes, admittedly, I am a bit overzealous about the info I like to layer into learning.

My workshop feedback is consistent: Love the information ... and I miss the extended workshop time allowing for hands-on learning. (I get it!!)

This workshop is designed to provide more opportunities to practice and receive both the experience of the sand tray and the experience of supervision and support. This is especially important for those of us who are learning this technique and those of us who use continued experiential learning exercises as opportunities to process our own experiences for greater relational availability in the playroom.

This workshop offers a short overview of using prompts in play therapy, the therapeutic relationship, and benefits of using sand tray in play therapy.

We will introduce ourselves and topics we are interested in exploring in our own hands-on sand tray experience. You will be sorted into groups of 2-3 depending on the number of participants. You will then have the opportunity to practice using prompts and guiding a client through the sand tray process. You will then process together in small groups and then switch roles .... this will allow ample time for experience and learning integration.

Upon registering, you will receive a questionnaire link to discuss what you want to gain from the workshop and how to be prepared for hands-on learning even if you don't have items available to you during the workshop. We will come up with a plan to support you and make sure you have what you want and need.

IF YOU HAVE TAKEN A SAND TRAY WORKSHOP IN THE PAST OR SIGN UP FOR ONE PRIOR TO THIS EVENT, use the COUPON CODE: SANDTRAY25 to save 25% (Yes, it will work on the early bird rate.). I am offering this discount to encourage you to continue and expand on your learning through supportive experiential opportunities.

To promote an intimate atmosphere and sense of safety, this workshop is further limited to 15 participants. Sign up early.
