This is a 90-minute online professional consulting group designed for fully licensed mental health professionals as well as those professionals who are working toward becoming Registered Play Therapists. This is an intuition-focused course and is very much emotion-centered.
We will explore poetry, along with other tools, and examine the power of metaphor in literature, culture, and the healing process. There will be time for creative exploration of themes as they emerge and relate to our personal lives and work with clients.
This group will meet on the second Monday of the month from 10:30 AM to 12 PM Pacific. The size of this group is limited to 10 participants in order to help foster an intimate environment and exploration as we meet online.
The goal of this group is to tap into metaphors as a point of making meaning in our life and work while living in the pressures and demands of today's society. We will also explore integrating written poetry as well as the writing of poetry into therapy sessions. We will briefly discuss understanding how to strategically select among various poetic forms to facilitate the therapeutic process.
Dr. Keller will select poetry that you can use with clients. The poems are chosen to relate to common therapeutic themes that emerge in the lives of our clients, but also in our own lives. Especially as we seek to offer meaning-making and healing spaces while also adapting to an ever-changing world.
** No CEs are offered for this group.
