Foundations of Using Sand Tray in Play Therapy

Build skills and confidence in using sand tray in play therapy with clients.

Sand tray is a powerful therapeutic tool often used in play therapy. It is popular with play therapists because it harnesses a number of the therapeutic powers of play. Among them: Communication. Sand tray gives children a language to express themselves. When children do have language skills, sand tray offers a way of expressing that which often feels beyond the capacity of words--trauma.

This 12-hour workshop on using sand tray in play therapy will cover the basics for getting started with your first client. Participants will learn how to set up a sand tray, introduce sand tray to others, invite the process, and guide clients through the sand tray healing journey.
